Holiday Weekend DUI Arrests in San Diego Down Over Last Year

There were 104 DUI arrests made by the California Highway Patrol in San Diego over the Memorial holiday weekend.

According to the California Highway Patrol, there were four fewer drunk drivers arrested this holiday weekend over last year at the same time. No fatal traffic accidents occurred.

There was a small increase in the number of arrests made on suspicion of driving under the influence in California. This Memorial Day weekend there were 1465 DUI arrests made compared to 1445 in 2008.

Driving Under the Influence in San Diego County

In California, it is unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle while under the influence of any kind of alcoholic beverage or drug.

If you have 0.08 percent or more, by weight, blood alcohol concentration, you will be charged with DUI or driving while intoxicated if arrested. You may face a fine and jail time if convicted.
