Suspected Drunk Driver Arrested for DUI after Skidding off Freeway

A man who was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol was taken into custody after skidding off freeway into bushes, according to San Diego police.

The suspected drunk driver lost control of his vehicle in Normal Heights on the transition ramp from westbound Interstate 8 to southbound Interstate 805 around 8:45 p.m. Monday night, that’s when the California Highway Patrol got the call.

Several patrol officers and firefighters were called in to locate the vehicle after it ran off the freeway and into some bushes.

The man suspected of driving while intoxicated did not sustain any injuries. He was arrested taken into custody for DUI.

Driving under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or drug in California is against the law.

If you have 0.08 percent or more by weight, of alcohol in your blood, you will be charged with a DUI if apprehended. You could be facing fines and jail time if convicted.
