Chula Vista Checkpoint Nets 33 Citations

A Chula Vista DUI checkpoint nets a total of 33 citations that were issued, and a drunken driving arrest.

The Chula Vista checkpoint took effect from 6:00 p.m. on Sunday to 2:00 a.m. on Monday in the 1100 block of Eastlake Parkway, said Chula Vista police.

According to the Chula Vista police, twenty five motorists had their cars impounded for driving without a valid license, three people were arrested on charges of suspected possession of a controlled substance, and one person was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

In California, it is unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle while under the influence of any kind of alcoholic beverage or drug.

If you have 0.08 percent or more, by weight, blood alcohol concentration, you will be charged with DUI or driving while intoxicated if arrested. You may face a fine and jail time if convicted.
