“Point Break” Actress Lori Petty Pleads No Contest in DUI Case

In Los Angeles Actress Lori Petty who appeared in “Point Break” pleaded no contest through her criminal defense attorney to a DUI charge, is sentenced to five years probation.

The 45 year-old actress who also appeared in the movies “Tank Girl” and “A League of Their Own,” was arrested by police on May 30 in Venice Beach after hitting a skateboarder with her vehicle.

In a written statement, the actress who is accused of drunk driving said “I sincerely apologize for driving after drinking alcohol.” She vowed she would never drink and drive again. “I assure you, this first misdemeanor DUI will be my last,” she said.

Petty has already completed counseling in alcohol abuse which is part of her sentencing, according to City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan.

Driving Under the Influence in San Diego County

In California, it is unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle while under the influence of any kind of alcoholic beverage or drug.

If you have 0.08 percent or more, by weight, blood alcohol concentration, you will be charged with DUI or driving while intoxicated if arrested. You may face a fine and jail time if convicted.
