San Diego Drunk Driver Who Crashed Into La Jolla Bakery Found Guilty

In San Diego Ronald Troyer drove his car into a sidewalk and into a La Jolla bakery ultimately wounding three teenagers and two adults.

While Troyer was driving his 1984 Chrysler New Yorker, he was under the influence of marijuana and alcohol. On Tuesday David Uyar, Deputy District Attorney, said that the drunken driver had smoked marijuana right before the crash occurred. Not only is he facing charges for driving intoxicated, he is also facing charges of reckless driving, driving on a suspended license and a hit and run. The 66 year old San Diego drunk driver faces up to fifteen years in prison because of his two previous DUI convictions and will be sentenced on May 4.

Two victims who were struck by Troyer are Ian Brininstool, who broke his leg and Alani Aguerre. Aguerre suffered the most injuries because she was dragged under Troyer’s vehicle where her pelvis was crushed, broker her leg and broke both of her arms.

The third victim, fifteen year old Myles Polger explained that he hopes Troyer gets what he deserves. Polger stated that “We just want to make sure he doesn’t have the opportunity to get in a car again and hurt anybody else.” The young victim is now in physical therapy due to arm and leg injuries from the accident.
